“Unlimited Starter” Windsurfing lessons:
- Windsurfing lessons to get you started:
- This 6 – 10 hour windsurfing course prepares participants for the VDWS basic course
- No previous experience required
- 6 hours of lessons are spread over 3 days. 10 hour of lessons are spread over 5 days
- 2 hours of windsurfing lessons / day. More than 2 hours may be taken on request (conditions permitting)
- The Unlimited Starter windsurf course includes all windsurfing equipment, wetsuit and harness (if needed)
- For participants taking beginner windsurfing lessons we offer affordable 5 – 10 hour windsurfing equipment hire, allowing you to practise on your own even after your course has been completed

Level 1:
Land based training, learning to control the board & rig,
finding your balance and learning to sail downwind. Basic tack, basic gybes, sailing and staying upwind, wind awareness
Level 2:
Competent sailing with more advanced and quicker tacking and gibing, harness and other techniques

Many people don't have a regular opportunity to put what they have learned during previous windsurfing lessons / windsurfing holidays into practice. Instructors quickly take you through a refresher course of the most important moves and exercises from the beginner windsurfing course. In most cases, 4 hours of lessons are enough to give all participants a brief introduction to more sophisticated skills such as windsurfing in the harness or the beach start

More harness technique using bigger sails / rigs with more power, getting planing and learning to use the foot straps
Level 4:
Getting planing, water-starts, intro. to advanced gybing (carve gybes)

- For all skill levels from beach start onwards
- Credit given for unused course days should there be a lack of wind etc.
- Free choice of 5 course days during your windsurfing holiday
- At least 2 units / sessions available per day (1 unit / session is 2 hours)

More info about Windsurfing:
Windsurfing is like the cool big brother of Kitesurfing, the pioneers of which were mostly windsurfers. The roots of Windsurfing go back a long way to 1965 when 2 good friends from Southern California, Hoyle Schweitzer (a businessman) and Jim Drake (an aeronautical designer) wanted to combine Surfing and Sailing.
These 2 intrepid, impatient guys decided the one draw-back to Surfing was having to wait for waves. Why wait when you can power into and onto waves using the wind?
Safe to say that Windsurfing has come a very long way since then and has experienced a massive resurgence in the last few years thanks to new technology and incredible new talents emerging in the sport. Free-riders pulling off amazing tricks and wave sailors showing such dexterity and fluidity under pressure.
Windsurfers are officially the fastest sailing craft afloat, capable of sailing in all conditions even when the Kitesurfers have had to pack up and go in.
Riding styles are varied, ranging from speed sailing, to slalom, free-move, free-style and free-ride. Purists would say that nothing matches windsurfing in terms of harnessing nature's raw power with just a board and sail. Windsurfers were the first to ever ride the epic, mountainous waves at off shore reef breaks like Jaws in Hawaii, performing huge jumps and loops.
