Location information:

Djerba is a fairly big island, just off the North African coast of Tunisia, the smallest country in North Africa.

A truly kaleidoscopic nation with diverse scenery ranging from beautiful Mediterranean beaches to the incredible Sahara desert, this Arab-Berber nation is one of the most liberal in the Islamic world. Alcohol is freely available and women need not feel intimidated or concerned about visiting Djerba.

On the island of Djerba, there are many villages, but almost no towns. The only real town is the beautiful Houmt Souq. Many travellers arriving at Djerba pass through the village of Ajim, but more picturesque is the little visited Guellala.

• This destination does not generally offer strong wind conditions, making it most suitable for beginner / intermediate kitesurfers
• New Kitesurfing centre, located in the North Western corner of the newly reconstructed Hotel Radisson SAS Resort on the island Djerba

In front of the kitesurfing centre the area is separated in two zones:

• Left side: Kitesurfing zone
• Right side: Windsurfing zone

• The beach is wide and is covered with a very fine white sand

• Adjacent to the Windsurfing & Kitesurfing centre is a 2km long and very wide beach area, with 100m of waist deep, magnificent turquoise colour water – excellent for Kite surfing lessons
• During the Summer the wind here is not too strong, but constant

Getting to Djerba, Tunisia:

Fly to Djerba Airport
Transport can be arranged from there to the resort

By Car:

• After leaving Djerba Airport it will take you about 25 mins to arrive at the Radisson Resort or Movenpick Hotel
• On your way you pass by at Houmt Souk, the main city of Djerba before you drive on the road to the “tourist zone” where all the hotels are.
• All the hotels are in this zone

• The Windsurfing & Kitesurfing centre can be reached via the beach on foot or guests can also take a taxi
• On Djerba they have official taxis (all yellow). They are not expensive and they have fixed prices (taxi metre), so you don’t have to negotiate or to know the price
• For a journey of around 10 mins you should pay around 3-4 Dinar (single trip)
